History & Background
In 1997, OSDTDA was formed by a group of dance team directors and coaches. Because dance and pom teams are not an official sport under the OSSAA umbrella, OSDTDA was created to provide competition opportunities for the dance teams in Oklahoma.
Today, OSDTDA is proud to serve thousands of dancers across Oklahoma and strives to create the best competition experience possible. OSDTDA provides a comprehensive state competition program for dance and pom teams, as well as dance studios, for all ages and school divisions. State championship competitions are held for soloists and ensembles, and for team championships in pom, jazz, kick, hip hop, mix, and game day categories. OSDTDA additionally awards academic state championships, academic all-state team recognition, and scholarships to senior dancers. OSDTDA also holds auditions for East and West All-Region Dance Teams and the All-State Dance Team, which is open to all senior dancers.
OSDTDA was created to promote excellence among and provide recognition to dancers across Oklahoma, and OSDTDA believes in supporting dancers and coaches as they grow, both as individuals and as teams throughout their dance careers.
